Dalapro filler

The principal ingredient of our ready mixed wall filler is white dolomite marble. This is a more than 2,5 billion year old sedimentary carbonate rock that is extracted in regional mines and then crushed, milled and sieved to aggregates and dolomite powder – also known as calcium magnesium carbonate. This white powder is used as the filling agent in most of Dalapro products.

In our lightweight fillers, we usually combine the dolomite powder with light extenders, called microspheres.

The microspheres reduce density of the filler and allows to be applied in thicker layers with less shrinkage, which is an advantage when working on uneven surfaces. As the lightweight filler is less dense, it is also more easy to sand and lighter to handle and transport. To make filler products with different properties, we vary the proportions of the various ingredients, following different formulations. At Scanspac, we currently use hundreds of specific formulas in our production processes.

In addition to the filling agent, our fillers comprise a binding agent and water, as well as a number of additives that give our fillers their different properties: viscosity, adhesion, drying time, , open use time and colour.

We are commited to keep invariable high and uniform quality year after year, in spite of the fact that natural raw materials properties may vary. We have succeeded in maintaining our leading position as the preferred wet ready-mix filler producer among professional painters and paint manufacturers in many years. This is still our best mark of quality.
